Fixed fee from £495

1,000+ UK valuations completed. We don't sell businesses, so there's no incentive to move the figure.
What the figure usually turns on
Fleet value net of finance
Vehicle age, mileage, Euro rating and remaining lease or HP liability set the asset floor. A profitable operator running tractors due for replacement carries a capex bill a buyer will subtract from the price.
Contracted work versus spot
Dedicated contracts with agreed rates and notice periods carry a multiple. Spot and load-board work carries very little, because it does not transfer with the business.
O-licence, compliance and OCRS
Operator licence margin, traffic commissioner history, tachograph compliance and maintenance records are checked in diligence. A licence issue can stop a deal entirely, so it belongs in the valuation.
Driver retention and sub-contract mix
Driver availability is the binding constraint in UK haulage. A stable employed driver base is worth materially more than the same turnover delivered through agency or owner-drivers.
Depot tenure, yard and working capital
Freehold yard held in the company is separated from trading value. Fuel exposure, debtor days against large shippers and pallet-network obligations set the cash a buyer must fund.
Typical benchmarks
Indicative UK ranges only. Contract quality, fleet age and driver model move these figures substantially — your report is built from your own accounts and comparable transactions.
Where haulage valuations go wrong
Operators are routinely valued on turnover, which in a fuel-heavy, pass-through business tells you almost nothing. Others are valued on fleet alone, ignoring a genuinely profitable contract base.
We value the trading business on normalised earnings, value the fleet net of finance, and state which basis governs and why — including the treatment of any freehold depot.
Independent, with no onward mandate
We don't sell businesses and take no success fee, so the figure isn't written to win a listing.
That is why our reports are accepted for share transfers, disputes, funder requests and HMRC submissions as well as sale preparation.
This is for you if…
- —You're planning a sale, an MBO or a retirement exit from a transport business.
- —You're acquiring an operator and want the contract base and fleet tested.
- —You need a defensible figure for a share transfer, dispute or HMRC submission.
- —A funder or lessor has asked for an independent view of the business.
